Welcome to Carraig Liath house. We are a family run bed and breakfast in Kerry along the Wild Atlantic Way, located over looking the picturesque Portmagee Village. We are just over the Bridge on Valentia Island, a short stroll to the Beautiful fishing village.

Portmagee itself was voted the top tourist town in Ireland in 2012. Also Valentia Island is world renowned for many things, check out our top things to do in the area for more information! We are also located adjacent to the Skellig Experience Centre, and it has never been easier to organise an unforgettable trip to the Skellig Islands!

We here at Carraig Liath House also offer self catering accommodation right next door, where we have a beautiful apartment. The apartment consists of two bedrooms; one double and one single room, and downstairs is all open plan. This is available all year round. Carraig Liath House ☺ First and foremost, the host was absolutely wonderful. Friendly and kind, always there to help, just wonderful. The location is beautiful and practical, with Portmagee being about 10 minutes walk across the bridge, offering everything needed. The room itself was clean and tidy, everything was fresh and there was nothing lacking, other than heating, but I guess it's a personal preference. The end of October can be a bit cold. Overall, this place feels like home, and as soon as there is a chance, will come again here. 9.3/10 ☹ The heating was scarce, it was difficult to dry clothes, and the bathroom was a bit chilly.

☺Valentia ist eine beeindruckende Halbinsel mit tollen An und Aussichten. Das Haus hat eine geschickte Lage für alle Unternehmungen und liegt trotzdem sehr ruhig. Die Wirtin ist extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit und macht gute Vorschläge.

the best bed and breakfast ☺ this beautiful bed and breakfast was by far the best bed and breakfast I have stayed in . it was clean , very comfortable and the staff were absolutely lovely. Frances is an excellent host and extremely welcoming ☹ nothing

Frances und ihr Mann sind wirklich sehr Nette Gastgeber, fantastisches Frühstück schöne Zimmer und man bekommt sehr gute Tipps für Ausflüge, Portmagee ist nur einen Steinwurf weit entfernt, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Frances falls du die Robbe mit meiner Brille nochmal siehst mach mal ein Bild von ihr 🙂 Auch 2023 wieder Top.

We had the most fabulous week stay in beautiful Valentia Island. Our rented home was outstandingly modern and contemporary. The island brought so much fun to us adults and children exploring, long walks, scenery and water sports. We also used it as a base for touring beautiful Kerry, Killarney and West Cork.

This home is conveniently situated just over the bridge from Portmagee. It had plenty of parking spaces and once inside has a large reception. Room/s downstairs. We had a lovely room upstairs overlooking the sea and Portmagee. The room is spacious with en-suite, TV, tea making facilities. Due to Covid, your continental breakfast is brought to your room. Beautiful fresh baked bread, along with croissants, yogurts, tea and fresh fruit. Thoroughly recommend and Francis, the host is lovely full of valuable information for sightseeing.
