We are located just over the Bridge from Portmagee and boast some fantastic views from each window of the house. The house itself is a purpose built Bed and Breakfast, where we offer three beautiful rooms, all tastefully decorated to a very high standard, with orthopaedic beds, power showers, hairdryers, tvs, tea and coffee and free high speed internet access , all with comfort in mind.
We try to use as much local produce as possible.
Breakfasts are cooked to order in the morning while you help yourself to
freshly brewed filter coffee, Barrys tea, and a variety of fruit and herbal teas.

You literally are a 150 m from the Skellig experience center. The skellig experience center is purpose built visitor centre. The use of concrete vaults with grass topping is designed to echo the wild quality of the south west of Ireland and to blend in with the surrounding hills.
The exhibition has four themes. The history and archaeology of Skellig Michael’s early Christian monastery; The Sea Birds, their habitat, their world wide travels. The Lighthouses which have given 161 years of service to mariners. The Underwater Skellig, which has colour and magic equal to any sea in the world.
When you leave Carraig Liath House and turn left you stroll over the bridge to the village to Portmagee while enjoying the beautiful views of Portmagee Valentia and the harbour and breathing in the fresh salt air that blows from the wonderful Atlantic ocean.
Portmagee itself is the gateway to Skellig Michael and is a hive of activity in the mornings with the boats heading to the Skellig Islands. Also Portmagee was voted the top tourist town in 2012.
Valentia is known the world over as the first place that Europe communicated with the US through the transatlantic cable. The Tetraod which was discovered in the 90’s,Slate quarry and Gleanlem subtropical gardens allied with unrivaled natural beauty.
